Sounds like the gecko is just stressed from moving. Get any bugs out of the cage and leave him alone for a few days.

If he is wild caught you should try heidi fruit flies. The larger of the fruit flies thou can buy. The wingless type of course. When I first got my groups they avoided crickets but went crazy for fruit flies. After a few weeks they started to try the crickets and realized they were a better (re:bigger) food source then they stopped eating the fruit flies.

New babies also seem to do better on FFs.

Regards,
John

Thanks for all of your reply been very helpful he's is captive bred I believe and he's starting to have a little wander about the place not straying far from his hideing spot I came home today and offers him some little roahes and he gobbled them up he still seems to be abit jittery also I've noticed that he's shed and there's still a little on him end of his nose and feet it's not much so I'm hopeing he will sort it out himself I also have the humidity at around 80 to see if that helps he still seems a little on the dark side tho.

Give him time, do not stare at him much and let him settle in.

I agree about the fruitflies.

Fresh imports can have some shedding issues the first time around. This is mainly because they are kept too dry during shipping.

If the animal is captive bred it could be due to a vit deficiency or the animal being kept in the wrong temperatures.

If the bump in humidity does not help, you can try and help free the stuck shed yourself using some tweezers or a q-tip. But I would let the animal settle in a bit more before you attempt to handle it.

I find the Herpetal brand or Korvimin ZVT+ Reptile to be good supplements.

Me Personally I use Korvimin ZVT+Reptile for regular dusting and Herpetal Mineral on calcium days.

If the gecko gets little to no UV light at all, you will want to use Herpetal Mineral + D3.

Personally I do not like to use the Reptiglo bulbs as they are poorly rated in studies. It will work fine for now for you, just remember to absolutely change it in 6 months. I use an Arcadia D3 Reptile (6% UVB) lamp in combo with their Natural Sunlight (%2 UVB) lamp or a Repti Sun 2.0 bulb for most of my setups. For heat I use a halogen lamp, usually 20 watts, if the tank is pretty big 50x50x60 or more I will add two 20 watt bulbs.

With the Arcadia bulbs, you can actually leave them in place for 8-9 months without changing them.
