Sphaerodactylus escape and recovery
A bit late in posting this, but the other day my female Sphaerodactylus notatus escaped. On the day I noticed her missing i was not sure if she had gotten out that day or the day before.
What happened was the screen had peeled away from the lid of the temp box I made for her allowing for her escape.
I must have searched on and off for almost 4 hours for her in our livingroom where she was kept.
We have wood floors and in a few sections there is holes in the floorboards to either allow for pipes to enter or simply where the boards cracked apart over the years the house has been here.
When I had finally given up hope i went in to the bathroom to get cleaned up from all the spider webs i had to wade through and there she was! She was trying to scale the side of our bathtub, which did not work out so well and she just landed back to the floor.
The little bugger made a 5 meter journey through the house and managed to do so without being caught by our four cats. :O
