Hi,

I am not sure what the temps in Hong-Kong are like at that time of the year, but it is quite normal for geckos to take a break now and then. Usually these breaks occur when the days get shorter and cooler.

How many hours do you keep your lights on?

hi,

first, thanks for replying me, hv been waiting for long=p

the weather in Hongkong is around 10c degree in this week

well...i hv 10 hrs light on and as the temp in hk is quite cold right now, so i keep the temp stable between 28-30C,

so...i should lower the temp and shorten the time of lighting them in order to trigger them?

thanks a lot =]

btw, i kept this lighting hour and temp at the same time last year and they did mate

For the breeding season (March through October which is Spring to Autumn here at least) you will want to keep the lights on for 12-14 hours a day.

Reduce to 10 hours from November through to March.

These should give you good breeding and resting periods.

Sometimes however Lygodactylus are picky and will just breed all year round despite an intended schedule. :P
