Default Glass or Screen cages for Lygos?

I'll be setting up a rack soon to add 4-6 species of Lygos to my collection. I been told to use screen cages but have noticed many people use glass enclosures...what would be best?

Thanks in advance.

Glass! Screen enclosure would dry them out in a house. Now if it were summer and you wanted to put them outside that is another story.

Thanks Maureen thats what I thought...a friend of mine keeps alot of reptiles and suggested screen cages but that may have been since I mentioned species that like lower humidity, I hadn't yet decided I wnated to go mainly in the direction of Lygos....

One other questions....what size vivarium is sufficeint for a pair? I'm either going with 18" Cube or 12x12x18" tanks

I know they need a verticlly oriented tank.

That size would be fine for a pair of Lygo williamsi, kimhowelli or equally sized lygos and is in fact the minimum size to keep them in (Trio would be 18x18x24" or 18x18x18". If you want something like picturatus I have observed they like something a little taller, like the 18x18x24" or the male looks rather dull all day. If you want to get ones smaller like L. capensis or L. capensis pakenhami you could go even smaller to around 12x12x12"

Sounds reasonable....I would go bigger but I just purchased 36 new vivs (20/30/& 40 gals)for my darts.

I have a rack I'm building that could hold to 18" cubes and (3) 12X12X18's nicely
