Default L. Williamsi - cage questions

Hi there,
  1. I'm started to run out of space due to the hatclings so I may have to relocate the groups. I have a big empty cage (40cm/16"/ wide-60cm/24"/ deep-70cm /27,5"/ high) and I was think about to put there a gorup like 2.2 or 2.3 I know that like everyone said that the best is to house them in pairs, but did anyone tried to keep them as a gorup?
  2. My next question is about the lighting. Do you prefer the tube or the compact verison as the UVB soruce. Is the compact bulb emits bad wavelenght light? Or is this just an urban legend? Can I put the light INSIDE the cage? Not on a screenmesh, but inseide so they can climb on it? These UVBs are that to burn them, or am I wrong?

Thank you!

I don't have much experience with keeping them in groups, I keep my new hatched williamsi seperate or in pairs.

But on the lighting. I would not put that bulb inside, they will climb on it and burn themselves. I'm using the 5.0 uvb compacts and tube. Both have been fine for me.

I would not recommend to keep more than one male per enclosure. If you do this you will see lots of aggression and possibly death.

You should never place a male with a female before she is sexually mature or you could cause her to become weak and die.

It is safer to place several females together, but here you also need to watch out for aggression, but it usually is not as bad as with the males.

Never place a lamp in with a gecko as you risk burns. Compact or Linear is just fine, your choice really. There were some bulbs in the past which caused problems with the eyes of animals, but the majority of these have been fixed.
