Eggs oft Tropiocolotes steudneri
Hello,
a few weeks ago, i got a call from a person, which needs to yield the Geckos of her death mother, because she has no time (she goes still to school).
So I decided to inherit them.
In the terarium were a lot of adult house cricket, so i have to remove the back.
At least i found 12 geckos and 7 eggs.
The eggs were in a scull and i couldn't see them. When I turned the head arround to get the sand out of it (to be sure, that there is no gecko anymore) they fell out.
Now I'm not sure, if the eggs are still "alive".
In a german forum, I got different opinions. Some say Yes, some say no.
What are your experience with that?
I put the eggs back in the terrarium but till now, nothing happened.
Greets

Hello. Far as i know it depends on how long time ago those eggs was layed. If you have the device for it, you can x-ray (sry i don't know proper word) them, to see if the embryos are in. Good luck with it.

i read up on this before posting and i came across some weird things with this specific geckos eggs, i came across an old post New little fella; Tropiocolotes steudneri that says that the eggs have rolled but still hatched i know sometimes it depends on the age of the egg and how bad it was shaken or moved but i think you have a chance with them hatching.
How long have you had the eggs???

Hello,
I have the eggs already for about 3-4 weeks.
The eggs were shaken very much: first the fell out of the "scull" and than, they "roll around" while i drove the terrarium at home...

Ive accidentaly turned eggs before and they hatched out just fine. I'd say leave them till they stink.

just leave the eggs, they will hatch if they ae turned around.
Just make sure the eggs are in complete dry sand.
if you have the eggs in an incubator then put a cup of water in the incubator, this helps.
if the eggs are in the viv make sure you do not spray water on the eggs.

As everybody else says; leave them alone. I think they will hatch.
You can put them back in the viv, or put them in an incubator.
When you put them back in the viv, put them back at the same place as where you foun them. The female that layed the eggs probably decided that it's a good spot for the eggs regarding temp, RV, etc.
Good luck!

Hello,
the eggs are in the terrarium.
BUT: i couldn't leave them, where I found them. I have to move them in a passing terrarium because of the house crickets.
I have to rebuild the whole terrarium.
I will let the eggs in the terrarium and see, what will happen.
Gabi
P.S. thanks for your help

'til now, nothing happened
But in the other group, where I could find an egg, i found a baby.
It lives now in a plastikbox, cause I had the feeling that it was getting thinner and thinner and thinner.
I hope it will survive!
