Default When to introduce kuhli...+ photos

Well I have a male female pair housed separately in hopes of introducing them to one larger terrarium when ready. I've had them just over a month so I am planning to wait at least another few months. My question is are males and females typically the same adult size...or is one sex larger..etc?

My female is a bit smaller then my male. She is housed RIGHT next to my computer, and she comes out at night and actually chases the mouse cursor sometimes, or sits RIGHT next to my hand and watches my fingers move on the mouse.

I keep these wonderful geckos for a while now.
I sex them with about 3 month, sometimes a little bit older, depending on the growth of the individuals.

But generally you can spot the line of pores between the legs in front of the cloaca of the males relativly simple.

this might be a dumb question but, are your flying geckos captive bred or really good condition wild caught.

The male is a wildcaught, but a really old one. He is in captivity since 8 years now. I only bought him, because he was already so long in captivity and checked by different vets and stuff.
The females are captive bred.

Hm, not easy to answer, but i'll try.
My experience with my own bred ones is definitely that they ARE as skittish as the wild caught ones.
BUT like most times, it depends on the character of each animal. I sold a 2 of my cb this weekend, and one of them is a little devil, fast, biting like hell and completely nervous, while the other one is a little bit calmer and better to handle. Nevertheless both of them are not very pleased to be handled in ANY way, they are skittish and evil and very very very fast.

I can't count the times, i had to jump around on my floor trying to catch a young kuhli escaping while feeding when i was just a SECOND distracted.

Definitely a species which isn't good to handle but just AWESOME to watch.

I only have a 1.1 Ptychozoon kuhli pair. My captive hatched female -- 7 yo in two weeks -- is much calmer than my WC male. I can generally always handfeed Sara with crickets or B dubia.

My female is somewhat larger than my male. Both are mature.

Thorrshamri (Herve Saint Dizier) has a wonderful care sheet on Ptychozoon under the GU care sheets. Be sure to check it out!!!
