Default Dwarf Dne Gecko (Stendoactylus sthenodactylus) terrarium + questions

Hi all I recently set-up a Dwarf Dune Gecko (Stendoactylus sthenodactylus) terrarium and was wondering if it was alright. The temps are 100 degrees F on one side and 80 degrees F on the other. Humidty is 30%. And they have 2 hides one on the warm side and one on the cold side. And a fake cactus.
Now for the questions. UV light, do i need one? If so what percentage, 10, 8, 6, 5, or2? And the rocks are laid directly on the sand, is that bad, ok, or good? Pictures below

Picture 277.jpg warm side

Picture 278.jpg cool side

Picture 279.jpg over all

Thanks for any advice.

Default Steno's

Hi ya,
Your temps are ok for Steno's. They don't need UV as they're a nocturnal gecko. But you must dust their food with vitamin/mineral suppliment. This must contain Vitamin D3. I feed mine 3-4 times aweek. One feed is dusted with vitamin suppliment, other feedings are dusted with pure calcium. For moisture, i spray the back wall with water every other night.
As for the rocks on the sand, big no no!! your little critters will tunnel under and get crushed. What i use is a couple of peices of cork bark. Its naturally concave and very light, so very little chance of causing any damage.
They're a cracking little geck, you'll enjoy having them.

Laza: Thank you for the advice on feeding and UV. I will be switching the rocks for cork bark soon.
