Default Amazing camouflage Master!

I put those red tiles on my flying gecko enclosure and they've been in there for about two weeks. We have started noticing something so neat! The female who has her original tail, has started camouflaging herself with the very spotty red tile on the back. It's honestly amazing! These guys have the most insane camouflage.....here are the pics.

I used some arrows to show just how well the serrated edges/ridges on her tail are..you can barely even see them...

This is what her tail used to look like in her other tank, without the reddish background...it was just a bare exo...

I took this photo before the others above, she hadn't settled into her sleeping spot. Then we came back in and took the first photos.

Her tail is matching the red background in this one too...and her feet are like insane spiderwebs. I guess trying to match the spotted appearance of the tile.

The male also tries to match himself...here he is the other day sitting on a cardboard tube I've put in the enclosure:

I watch them at night and they are always doing something. The male calls to her and sometimes she screams at him if he touches her. Sometimes he is just ignoring her minding his own business and she decides to go where he is, and screams him out of the spot. lol

WAY WAY underrated.

Thanks for posting that, Marisa. I'd never heard of them going to such extremes before.
The timing is pretty good too - I've got an empty tank, the expo is this weekend, and I'm making a list of what to put in that tank.
I haven't read much about them, but do know most people keep them in smaller enclosures. I tend to give everyone more space than most people do, so I'm not sure if an enclosure 36 x 18 x 18 is too big for them. If nothing else, they could get in a bit of gliding.

I am SUPER excited about getting some eggs from these guys. They have been together for two weeks today. Hopefully I'll see some eggs after 30 days. She already looks fatter. But she has been eating well too. So we'll see.
