Default excavator clay for stenos

i was hoping to get some advise about using the clay but i want to mix it with play sand so it will stay strong but still allow the geckos to dig thro it and tunnels not collapse. therefore what ratio should i use?

Thumbs up

Hi Mark, no ideaof the ratio to use. But it sounds a great idea to mix the clay with sand. I keep Stenos on sand and obviously it collapses. I have seen that Lucky Reptile markets a Desert Bedding that looks similar to the Excavator.
Let me know how it goes, I am thinking to do about the same as you.

I've worked with those guys before and I find that it actually works the best when mixed 50/50 with exo terra's plantation soil. It holds humidity that way so the geckos could always dig new tunnels or refurbish old ones. I loved it mixed this way and I currently use it for baby monitors.
