Question flying geck

i am planning on setting up a live planted tank for a pair of kuhls flying gecko. i am gonna live plant it-i know what im doing. i am thinking a 29 gallon or a 18x18x24 zoo med.

i am looking for any tips, of info that would be helpful.

Also i want a pair of CBB and kingsnake.com usually has WC. Are their any breeders on here? i want to contribute in the coming 6 months.....

i have read that a 18x18x24 is NOT tall enough...???

worst case i will make a 75 gallon vertical...NOT likely...

if you have any ?'s regaurding a DIY screen or Vertical conversion kit for a tank... just ask!

Palor on this forum from Chaos Nights Reptiles Chaotic Nights Reptile - The Den is the only active flying gecko breeder I know of. It will probably take 3-6 months for him to get new hatchlings for you. You won't find any CBB flyers on kingsnake or any other flying gecko sellers.

You can search "flying gecko" on this forum section to find more information of other owners and what they have done. There are others who have flyers, but I'm not sure if they are breeders.

I believe a 18x18x24 is good enough for at most 3 flying geckos according to Palor. I have some pics of my flyer setups in another thread as well.

My flyer tends to never go on the substrate. It loves to lay on or hang from a vine and stare at the tank floor scanning for crickets. 90% of the time is hangs out at the top portion of the tank. During the day it will find a spot that is high enough to get heat from the light bulbs and try to keep away from light that will disturb him from sleeping.

A mister is definite must as it gets water from droplets on the tank walls and vines etc.

Just monitoring where it hangs out during the day time and night time, it seems to like these conditions:

Temperature
Day Time: 80-90 Deg. F
Night Time: 70-80 Deg. F

Humidity: 70-100%RH (60%+ intermittent is ok) 24/7

These are only preferences, You can find more absolute requirements in the Flying Gecko caresheet in the caresheet forum of this website.

Palor tells me he keeps his breeding Ptychozoon kuhli pairs in 40 gallon tanks.

For more great ideas be sure to check out Thorrshamri's 5 star caresheet in the GU care sheet section! Here you go: Flying geckos personal care sheet (Ptychozoon species)

Then for Palor's more recent caresheet click: Flying Geckos (Ptychozoon kuhli): Palor's Care and Breeding
