Default Triblonotus Gracilis Hatchlings

Does anyone else around here breed Triblonotus Gracilis ?

I have been breeding them for 3 years now and have noticed my hatchlings have been mostly female. Out of the 14 babies, 12 were female and 2 male.

90% of my customers are asking for unrelated pairs Good luck getting one

My curious natures makes me wonder if other people who breed them have been having the same results?

I don't have any experience with them but have you tried changing the incubation temps to see if that has any affect? Perhaps they're TSD? Perhaps next season split the eggs into some different temp groups to see what happens.

I'm psyched to hear that you're having good luck with captive breeding these guys though. I'd love to get into them but have been waiting for some good cbb's to come around.

I highly doubt they are TSD, they live in a very narrow band of temps naturally. Roughly 70-80 year round temps. We let the eggs hatch in tank, eggs have been laid on warmer and cooler sides. Warm side is 78-80, cooler side gets down to 72.

Baby tribs themselves are a real treat, some are super shy and play dead, others are fearless and chirp and fake strike at you. Have even seen an older sibling defend the younger, was adorable.

Good luck finding someone who breed these things RR.
