Well now that my Picta's are getting a little bigger I may have run into a problem. Dora seems to be developing a bulge at the base of her (his) tail. I am not sure yet as I have yet to handle them but from looking there is something there. Can anyone post a picture of what I am looking for to tell the difference. I will try to get a good pic soon to show what I saw. And also if she turns out to be a he, how long can I keep them in the same tank without worrying about eggs. They are both much to small at this point to breed, and I wasn't planning on breeding anyway at this time. I have had them for a month and am estamating them to be no more the 2-3mos old.
