Default P.picta hatchling - Interesting...

...at least I think so
Been a couple years since I've had/bred picta so not sure if this is overly special, or unusual.
It's like it couldn't make up it's mind if it wanted to be Banded or Striped
Hatched today.

Hey Clint,

Unfortunately I have no experience with these geckos so I can't tell you if it's unusual or not. It is however a very cool looking pattern.

Perhaps you have a new morph there!! It will be interesting to see if any others hatch out with the same type of patterning on them.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Dyesub Dave.

It's been many years since I kept them, but from my experience, I'd say that's a keeper. Has the clutchmate hatched yet?

Thanks guys. Yes Hilde the clutchmate hatched shortly after I posted the pics. Just a normal Banded I'm definitely going to hold onto this little one to see how it matures!

Hey Clint ... could you post pics of the clutchmate for comparison? I'm not familiar with this species and would like to see the differences in the babies you hatched.

Thanks ... Dyesub Dave.

Sure Dave. This isn't the actual clutchmate, but this is the standard look for a Banded hatchling....

WOW ... That is quite a difference in the patterning. Have you searched the net to see if you could find any others like that? It will be interesting to see if you are able to breed that one when it's older what type of offspring you'll get.

Those look like really cute little geckos too. I usually go for the more sticky toed species but I may have to do a bit of research on these ones. Are they fairly easy to keep / breed?

Dyesub Dave.
