Default Paroedura picta: egg laying duration

Does any one know what will happen if I keep my male in with his 6 females year around? They seem to have stopped laying but that could just be from the stress of moving to a new habitat.Do females lay a limited number of eggs per year or will they continue to lay without a break? My girls are really fat and healthy so that is not a concern,My boy seems depressed when I take him out so I would like him to stay but I would like a break from eggs for a while.

What gecko do you have? If you keep picta I would say no. Sometimes picta can't finish egg laying and if there is a male, breeding not seasonal but permanent. Not worth risking.

every year one breeding season that counts about 6 clutches.(can be more but no good if you force your picta to breed to often too much)
When your geckos start laying fifth clutch male should be removed. I guess females will lay and lay after that for a few more months. Laying too often exhaust you picta. Additional calcium supply is important for them!!! do you know how much time elapse between two egg laying?

ps:
I also have to do this with similar prolific species. After I removed the male female lays fertile eggs for more than 2-3 months.

Hello,
if your male seems depressed when you take him out, maybe his cage is not as it should be.
You should seperate him after two or three weeks. The females sometimes lay eggs for more than a year after the male has been seperated.
