Question Panther Geko- Keeping Humidity Up

I am wondering good (but fairly cheap!) ways to keep my humidity up, and I want to know the possibilities before I get anything. I have decided that I will (in the next few months) be saving money to get a panther geko. I have done a lot of research on this, and a year later with more research (now) I finally have decided that I will do it after my birthday.
I have everything down on what I need and put it in a list on Petsmart and my computer, but there's one thing that I'm wondering.
I have heard that you can use a mister to keep humidity up, but not for very long.
-Is this true?
Second, if the above is true, I have also read that you can put a water bottle with a puncture in the lid on the tank securely and it will drip water when filled.
-Is this true?
Third, if neither of these can work, what should I do?
-Please let me know as soon as you can so I can average out how much I need to save! Thanks in advance!
(Got this in the right place now!)

panther geckos do not require high humidity. they come from a dry forest area. a humid hide will suffice

Hallo,
I have very much ground in the tank (about 8 cm) and I take care that the lower part of the ground stays moist, so that the geckos can reach the wet sand when they are digging.

Panther geckos require more humidity then leopard geckos, I always kept and bred mine on a substrate of moist coco soil with a thin layer of reptibark and moss on top. Sometimes I will do half and half tanks with sand and soil. My friend's picta kept on dry sand with a humid hide have always looked to be in thinner condition and seemed to pass away earlier then mine have. Just my 2cents.

Tiki,There might be something to that!I have 2 set ups. 1 with real plants and 1 with artifical. The geckos with real plants are fater and bigger then the ones in the artifical tank, of course the real planted tank is much more humid. I feed and take care of them the same and they are clutchmates so that is an eye opener for me !
