Question Infrared heat lamp?

For Christmas, I received an infrared heat lamp (150 watts) and I wanted to make sure that it would be good for my future pictus gecko. I don't know how to attach a link, but it's a zoo med nocturnal infrared heat lamp. Any thoughts on it?

If you also own a proportional thermostat then it could work, otherwise it may not.

150w is far higher output than is usually required in the typical pictus sized enclosure.

Merry Christmas

i agree with maurice as a 75 would give off around 85-90 F i think a 150 would be best for a bearded dragon. but you can buy a thermostat to ensure you don't cook the gecko. good luck and there is a care sheet for a pictus gecko in the front which would be best to read over

I am of the opinion that all heating devices should be placed on a thermostat. Not only is it a safety issue for your gecko, it takes all of the work out of having to adjust and/or worry about temperature fluctuation and providing proper temps making your job much easier.

Most any thermostat will work for multiple heating devices as long as you A) stay within the wattage limits of the thermostat and B) plug a power strip into it.

I also have a 75 watt UVA bulb. Would this be good to use with them? If so, how would I go about this? (such as rotate between it and the infrared light, ave them both on, ect.) And does 1/3 "forest" moss and 2/3 eco earth substrate sound like a safe, effective substrate? It would look really good, and panthergecko suggested it. I just wanted to get multiple opinions on it. What kind of thermostat would I need to get? I am not educated with them- yet.
