So I cleaned out my old baby turtle tank and set it up for the pair of P. Pictus geckos that my girlfriend and I have had for ~2 months. They originally were in a 5.5 gallon aquarium tank, which seemed a little odd because of the height. Given that these are small (juvenile, probably close to hatchling size) and terrestrial, I decided that a 5 gallon long tank would work better.

It's the same dimensions as a 10 gallon, but half the height. This makes it convenient because I can use a screen top from one of my ten gallons on it. (I have 4 of them sitting around lol).

Anyways, wanted to get some opinions on the setup. Trying to go for as realistic as possible. This will hold them until they grow out of it. Then I'll probably give them a 20 gallon long.

The substrate is a mix of sand and coco fiber. Then leaf litter, some bark pieces and rocks. Some branches for climbing.

The plants are spider plants and a "ponytail" palm. I know these plants will totally outgrow the tank, but they look nice for now and they are from my other houseplants which can be repotted.
