Exclamation Prolapse? Growth?

My leopard gecko has a strange black lump in his vent. At first I thought it might be a prolapse, buy after looking at some images, prolapses seem to always be pink, so what exactly is it? Some additional information is that when i try washing or rubbing the lump, blood comes off of it. I don't know the gender or exact age of my gecko, but i think it is a male, and is probably somewhere around the age of 3. Also, my parents are unwilling to take him to the vet, so if it is serious, i dont have all that many options. If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to post.

It can be an abscess or most likely a prolapse which have become necrotic if it's black. It's painful and your gecko will succumb to infection and death if not treated by a vet asap. All you can do at home is keep it clean. Do your best to convince your parents. It is unfair to allow your gecko to sit there and suffer, veterinary care comes along with owning a pet.

It also could be a sperm plug. If it's a sperm plug a vet will easily be able to remove them for you. Just don't let it go for a bit. Sperm plugs can cause other issues. A trip to the vet will verify any of these possibilities.

If your parents refuse to take him to a vet, then take him to your local animal rescue center or walk into the vets with him.
They will have to take him from your care because your parents are not taking the responsibility that must be taken when you have an animal under your ownership, but the sanctuary/center/vet will be able to provide him with the treatment he deserves. You will not get him back though.
So what do you want more? To keep him till he dies and put him through the pain of whatever this problem is, or hand him over to someone who can possibly save his life and give him the treatment?
Sorry, but it is an act of extreme cruelty (and its illegal) to own an animal and not provide the vet treatment they need.
Explain your situation and the vet/center/etc wont get you or your family into trouble. If they ask for your adress or parents details, leave your gecko there and just walk away.

Promise me you will not obtain an animal until you know your parents will provide the health care it requires? I work in an Animal Unit and I hear the same thing over and over "i cant afford the vet bills", "the animal belongs to someone else but they wont take it to the vet"
and thats why hundreds of thousands of people work every day to rehome pets.
Please dont be another stastistic, you seem like a bright enough person to know you dont want to cause your pet uneccesary suffering.

I mean this with the best intentions for both yourself, your family and your gecko.

I am a veterinary student, I can provide some advice but..

IF YOU HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES WITH AN ANIMAL, CONSULT YOUR VET, NOW.
Most surgeries provide a 24/7 number you can call to get in touch with one of their vets, call it and explain your situation. The internet is not a vet and nobody can properly diagnose an issue without examining the animal in person.
