Default Need help! Little Gecko Rescued from the Mop!!!

I know that etiquette calls for an introduction first, but this is kind of an emergency.

We found this little guy in the mop when we were going to mop after our little dog. We had to grab him quick before the little dog used him for a chewie! I think he's a Gecko, but I've never seen a baby Gecko and my girlfriend has never seen one at all. She got a little freaked out by him. Anyway, as I said, I've never seen a baby one and don't have the heart to let him out to get eaten by something. I don't know the first thing about the care and feeding of this thing.

I need info on what to feed him and how to care for him, at least until I decide what to do with him or until I can get in touch with the local Gecko shelter (har har). For now, I decided to call him Flaco. Can anybody help? Is anyone interested in adopting? I'm in New Mexico.

Thanks for the help

By his size I would feed him pin head crickets or babies. And you could keep him in a little tubawear container or.something with some moist paper towels in a warm room. I would adopt him but he would have to be shipped. And to be shipped from.Mexico it would probably be expensive.

I would take the little tyke too if you wanted to ship him to me! I agree that you can probably feed him the smallest crickets you can find and keep him in a little tupperware container with some moist paper towels.

If you're really desperate to give him away, I'm up in Idaho which isn't too terribly far to ship the little geckster.

This animal should be returned to it's natural environment.

im in upstate ny and we just saved one of those too. poor thing got shipped from texas to here and its going to get cold soon so we decided to keep him. since you are so far down south releasing him into the wild would be more ideal than keeping him. but if you must insist we feed our flightless fruit flies that we get from our local pet store. but i agree with riverside reptiles just put him/her in your backyard or drive down the street to a nice grassy area. and ours is a hemidactlyus turcius they are all in the same family but your in a spittin image of the little guy we rescued. these guys are the rats of the gecko world and can survive in most places. so putting him outside would not be bad for him.
