Default pachydactylus rack?

I have just picked up my first pachydactylus (carinatus) and ive been debating how to house these guys. I have them temporarily set up in a 5.5 gal tank with some rock slabs built up on their warm end for them to hide in. Since these guys stay so small and it seems to me that a back heat system would work well for them would it be possible to house them in a critter cage type rack like you see for crested geckos time to time? Im curious if the back heat tape would get hot enough to heat the rock slabs up for them or if you would need to have a basking light pointing down on them like I do now. I plan on working with more pachys in the near future so I am trying to deside the best way to go about it. Also how fast are these guys? I have yet to try to pick them up. lol

Many Pachydactylus species can be kept similarly.

This should do: Pachydactylus.com - P. serval

Keeping them in racks is possible, as long as you meet their requirements.

Regards,
Chris
