Tall tank, low or mid humidity with larg bark surface where the gecko can move vertically. They like high temp for hot spot 30-32.
I have a pair in exoterra flexarium 38gal, but I think completely enough 20-25 gal for one gecko. Coconut bark for substrate. This worked for me.

Welcome.

Another South African is great.

well technically dependent on where in South Africa you are you need the relevant permits to keep it. Where are you based?

You can house the geckos in a variety of options, as suggested a enclosure
with some flat bark is great some thick branches to use as "road ways" which is will climb on is also great some old Palm branches work well too.

Also being that it is the natural climate for these geckos humidity is not a big issue so do not worry about that too much.

thanks for the replies. Chondrodactylus, i live in haarties, in the NW. My cat actually brought him in and since it is so cold here at the moment i want to just keep him for a while to make sure he is ok and doesnt get eaten in the mornings when he is too cold to move. I have him in a 600 x 400 tank (My dragons tank when they were babies) with a polustyrene rock wall at the back, lots of thick driftwood roadways and three hides, one warm one cool and one humid. will that suffice?

That is fine, not really necessary for the humid hide.

What are you feeding it on?

dusted crickets, and getting grasshoppers from my farm too. No pesticeides are used on the farm, so they are poison free.
