Default Colorvariants of P. rangei

Hello,

as some of you might know we (my girlfriend and me) have been quite successful with breeding P. rangei over the last couple of years.

Among all the hatchlings we noticed that pattern and color varies a lot. So we decided to split them up into three different variants and started breeding the different lines seperately.

Enjoy some pics and please let me know what you think about it. You will find a few more pics on my website Palmatogecko

all the best,

Steven

Hi Steven,

i also noticed that those geckos are extremely variable.
Did you have any success in develop those "forms" over more generations ?
I have dark, striped and "patternless" animals from different clutches but same parents.

Best Sebastian

Default color variants

Thanks for your kind words, Herve.

Sebastian, they absolutely do. It is quite similar to High Red Phelsuma grandis for example. Especially the dorsal stripe becomes clearer and more prominent with breeding striped specimens. But we are just at the very beginning of the process.
Also as you know we are by no means crazy about colormorphs. Healty and strong animals is always our first target within breeding a species.

best,

Steven
