Default Ptenopus g. garrulus

Hi,

at Dec 4th i will have the chance to buy 1.1 or 2.2 Ptenopus garrulus.
I heard that to successfully breed them i need two male because of the vocalize. Is this true? If so, can i house two males with two females together?
And one thing i still do not know exactly. What is the max size of them?

Well, in nature they live in large colonies with multiple males not far from another. Though I heard that Jon Boone and some others who have had success breeding them had the best results keeping them seperate or maybe in pairs. Also when kept in a cage with multiple males there is always a chance that they start fighting. Personally I keep them all singly and will only put them together if I have intentions to breed them. Please note that my experience with this species is still really basic at this point. I'm sure that someone else can comment on this and give some more information. Good luck with them!

Thanks josse!

I hope that someone else can contribute to this topic.
However, if you can, could you share with me how do you keep your guys?
Were you able to breed them?

The breeder who i will buy these geckos told me if i buy 1.1 i should record the sound of the male and play it back to him to encourage the mating behavior.
Is this correct?
