Default Need info please on pachydactylus rack setup

Ive been into reptiles since i was a kid and geckos was always my personal favorite. I've built racks before but they weren't always so pretty looking but nonetheless did the job. I just wanted to see if any of you have some info to share on any rack setups u have made. I've been searching for a few days online n haven't come across anything for arboreal species. Thanks

Hi,

I picked up some Pachy's a while back and decided to keep them in a rack setup. I'm not sure how arboreal you want to go, however I've had a good deal of success with Sterelite 1753 16qt rack from Animal Plastics. I chose to use the tub lids (taking off the snap locks) since they can squeeze out of top if the rack bows at all. The AP rack doesn't bow, however the one I had them in before did and I almost lost a female. Also, if you go this route you should plug the holes left where the snap lock hinges are on the tub, smaller animals can aqueeze out through there as well.

If you're looking for something taller, I spoke with Ali at AP about offering an arboreal rack for smaller species, such as pachy's. She said that they would most likely be able to build something to fit a specific tub, however I didn't really find anyting around the 30QT size i liked. I think Rubbermade had one but I wasn't thrilled with the shape.

Hope it helps,
Justin

The Pachys are on the top shelf. The AP racks really don't bow at all, even with the rock and sand and the tub being used with the lid.
