In 2007 I had the chance to purchase a 1.1 pair of Pachydactylus fasciatus. Obviously I did and was also fortunate enough to receive a gift of 0.0.2 from a fellow hobbyist.





It didn't take long for the pair to begin producing eggs and by late 2007 I had a few eggs incubating and was able to tally 15 eggs laid from this female by the time the season was over.


Out of 15 eggs, 14 of them hatched (the first clutch - and only single egg clutch) was infertile.





Unfortunately I thought I had lost one of the hatchlings. She had escaped from her critter keeper and I eventually wrote her off as dead. Well a few months later while my dad was switching filters for the furnace heating the shop, he found this...


She had slipped through the mesh into the air duct that traveled to the furnace and somehow survived. Despite losing her tail she looked in great shape and her tail quickly began to regrow...


Today I got this fella in the mail...


I'm really happy and excited to add these guys to my collection. One of my favourite species. Thanks to Nathan, and all the other guys for giving me such great geckos. I can't wait to start producing these bumblebee rock geckos again. :yes:

Those are great pictures, and a great story! They are amazing animals, and it's fascinating how much Pachydactylus juveniles differ from adults.
