    Default Keeping Humidity Up

LOG IN TO CLOSE THIS AD

So I currently have a tank set up and am monitoring the parameters. The setup is as follows:

    Enclosure 18x18x24 exo terra

One half of the screen top is covered in glass and has the exoterra fixture with 2 23w led lights.

The other half of the top does not have glass and has two dome lights holding the uvb and basking bulb.

Substrate is a bioactive AGB Mix covered in Magnolia leaf litter.

The temps are good. However when I mist this morning the humidity spiked at 90, but is currently sitting at 60%.

I plan (if parameters stay good) on getting some p.klemmeri. my concern is keeeping the humidity up.

Any advice on keeping it up?

/\ /\ Are these LED bulbs sitting ABOVE the glass? One recommendation I see is this: Don't place the light bulbs directly on the glass.

Phelsuma klemmeri may appreciate a day-to-night humidity variation. IF you wish to keep the humidity higher, I recommend a layered substrate.

Be sure to buy a digital hygrometer to measure the humidity. Analog (circle) hygrometers are usually very inaccurate.

Top layer = ABG mix, topsoil, sphagnum moss, + leaf litter
Middle layer = weed block cloth or fine mesh nylon screen
Bottom layer = ~ 2 inches of hydroton clay culture marbles [Periodically water the hydroton through the weed block cloth just like you'd do plants.]
