    Default Stressed gecko?

Hi I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a while and I hope you would be so kind as to give me some advice?

I've got a 2yr old leo who has always had problem sheds but recently I've noticed a build up on her feet. Using advice from this forum I bathed her and soaked her feet and gently rolled the shed off with a cotton bud. She was very well behaved during the treatment and didn't seem upset or distressed.

I can now see that she has a couple of black toes that I expect she will lose but she has no wounds but she seems as though she is now unwell, maybe stressed?

She hasn't eaten since the treatment, although she doesn't usually eat just after a shed but she is hiding in her warm hide, closing her eyes when she sees me. Yesterday she did mobilise herself to her moist hide for a bit and returned to her warm hide.

I know geckos can get stressed out and she is probably annoyed with me for messing with her feet, but can stress kill a gecko? As I say she was fine during the treatment but has seemed unwell since.

Is there anything I can do to de-stress her?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to GU! Geckos can get stressed but in general they are very hardy. Her feet might be hurting a bit from the treatment so she might feeling like "laying low". Not doing the treatment, however, would have had worse consequences. Keep offering food at the regular times, give her some time to recover, and don't worry too much.
