As long as the UTH is not heating up water it will be fine. I assume you mean glass aquariums ?

You can use it for a 20 gallon long aquarium. I use them on all of mine (20 gallons + 10 gallons) and have not had any issues.

I'm pretty sure that by stating not to use it on an aquarium, they are saying you're not supposed to use it for an aquatic (water-filled) tank.

Just make sure to use a thermostat & the temps should not get high enough to crack glass. I have heard people say that sudden temperature changes (like a water bowl being spilled on the UTH side of the tank) can cause it to crack however.

Thank you for your reply. I do have a thermostat and will keep the water bowl on the cool side.

    Hi Shannon ~

I highly recommend Ultratherm's 11 x 17 inch heat mat for a 20 long (30 x 12 x 12 inches tall). That will not be overkill. There's still ample space for your cool side.

All Ultratherms are reusable. Stick-on heat pads are NOT reusable. Both Reptile Basics (336-308-5767) & the Reptile Supply Company (info@ReptileSupplyCo.com) stock Ultrathem heat mats.
