Again thank you so much! I actually just purchased the 10, so right now, I can't get a 30...but will soon of it is necessary to help him. I just learned about the hides, so he has only one and it is moist( he went in it this morning). I will look up how to make the other 2, but I'm sure the larger tank is needed to fit it all comfortably. I will attach a pic of the Calcium powder and water treatment I have, and if you would suggest a vitamin, I will absolutely get it! He is eating better, just I don't think it's as much as he should be.

ALL Uzi's legs look much better than I had hoped! Each leg seems to bend at a right angle at his "elbows"! I don't see any bowed limbs.

He's doing great eating too. I recommend feeding him what he'll eat 3x per week or every other day. IF your water is fine for humans, it will probably be fine for Uzi. All my geckos get tap water. I live on the NW Oregon coast.

I recommend using Uzi's log hide as the cool hide, because it's not so private. For his humid hide cut an entry hole on top of a smallish plastic container. Melt the hole's edges with a soldering iron & fill with damp paper towels.

I use this hide for my leo's warm dry hide. You could use a small cardboard box with a small side entrance.

NOW plain calcium for humans is great too. Plain calcium keeps forever withOUT expiring OR you could get Zoo Med's Repti Calcium withOUT D3.

Be sure his heat mat keeps the ground temp between 88-92*F underneath his warm dry hide. Those temps are necessary so he can digest his food.

I will follow your instructions and keep you up to date on his progress if that's alright?! I'm waiting for his tail to thicken back up(it's supposed to be fat, right). The Oregon Coast rocks! I first visited when I was 3 months old. My lifelong dream was to retire on the coast. Here I am!

The top-opening 20 gallon long = 30 x 12 x 12 inches tall. Zilla makes a front-opening enclosure 30 x 12 x 16 inches tall. IF you ultimately plan to use UVB, please confirm whether Zilla's current mesh top is a suitable choice.

When you upgrade I recommend an 11 x 17 inch Ultratherm heat mat + a thermostat. Just verify the exact dimensions of the 30 x 12 x 16, so you'll know how well the Ultratherm fits. Even though this enclosure is 4 inches taller, an 11 x 17 inch Ultratherm heat mat should have no trouble keeping up. However, you may wish to consider heating with a Deep Heat Projector instead of a heat mat.

It's important to feed Uzi's bugs & worms a good dry diet that's low in phosphorus. Then the mealworms will be nutritious. Professional Reptiles' Pro Gutload dry diet is also good to use as a mealworm bedding.

Once you get all 3 supplements, here's how to use them.

Feed Uzi lightly dusted prey 3x per week. Feed what he consumes in about 15 minutes -- more if he seems hungry.

• Monday > > mealworms, crickets, or dubia lightly dusted with Zoo Med's Repti Calcium with D3
• Wednesday > > mealworms, crickets, or dubia lightly dusted with pure precipitated calcium carbonate withOUT D3 (Zoo Med's Repti Calcium or NOW's human-grade pure calcium carbonate)
• Friday > > mealworms, crickets, or dubia lightly dusted with Zoo Med's ReptiVite multivitamins withOUT D3
• Saturday > > mealworms, superworms, or black soldier fly larvae (Phoenix worms) >> no dusting

I use plain calcium carbonate for the second "calcium" dusting per week, because vitamin D3 is fat soluble. That means the D3 Uzi eats on Monday sticks around in his body all week long & metabolizes all plain calcium that's consumed that week.
