This is a 2 ft/6" PVC cut in half, with openings cut out on the front side, back side is solid. I covered it with Exo-terra sand mat, using super 77 spray glue and Krylon clear-coat on the mat to keep it together. I also sprayed the inside with flat black primer before gluing the mat on, since...

I used it to cover a half-pipe, and it's wonderful for that, but I wouldn't want to use it on the floor. Tile has worked best for me for the floor, and it's cheap.
