Anyone use this on geckos?

EVOLT E-510 10 MP Digital SLR Camera (with 14 - 42 mm and 40 - 150 mm Lens) and with a macro extension. For about $1,000 new is this good for that pro shot? I really want to see those eye veins, scale details in the close ups and see clean full distance shots worthy enough to blow up the picture.

I decided to build two breeding/holding cages for my lateralis with the idea of keeping them in and other bugs out with no room for error on this. I want my collection to be 99% safe from any introduced germs once I get fully up and running. I might change some things next time but here goes...
