    amphibian problem

I am seeking help from those who keep frogs. I found my male Kalophrynus (of two years) laying on his back in a slime layer and bloated beyond belief:cry: He had no use of his hind legs so could not flip himself over. I believe the slime layer developed from his struggling. I have isolated...

    Problems with Zoomed Mopani Wood

Recently I had one of my year old cb A. felinus develop neurological problems to the point where I thought he was going to die (head hanging to one side, no muscle control/coordination, flipping over, etc..). I had changed nothing except for the new piece of mopani wood, previously...

    a young felinus egglayer

For exp. felinus keepers, have you encountered this? Returning from a week vacation, I found this in one of my 8 month felinus enclosures. This is from a virgin female with absolutely no exposure to another male or female. As a side note; I am quite familiar with other gecko sp. laying inf...

    silkworm moths/eggs

These are silkworm moths that I feed to most of my gecko sp. I try to get them out of the container before they start laying eggs - a little more nutritious for the geckos. I just came in from working in the garden (hence my dirty/jagged fingernails) and found four that were already starting to...

Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri (Texas Rat Snake)

Just a couple quick pics I took while working. This snake was taken from the chicken coop and "relocated" to a brush pile about 800 ft. away by my boss. Was pretty calm the entire time. Next to Indigos, these are one of my favorite snakes. Sarah.

    Tokay rescue -- very sad

I rescued a very large male Tokay just about two weeks ago. "They" said that he could have a broken right hind foot as there was a large lump and scab on the ventral surface. I wanted to wait until he shed so that I could access the problem. I allowed him two days of settling in his new...

I realized that I haven't posted any pics of my Tribolonotus. Out of all my herps, they really stink  but are the most interesting to observe. The male The female Should I use a q-tip to remove the mite on the male's nose or just leave it? I fed them by hand once but I like...

    growing hatchling

These are not so great pics but wanted to show the change in one month. I especially like the pattern it is developing 10 days old at 1.9g (+/-1g scale) and one month later at 2.5g (+/-1g scale) I think weight is showing more in tail girth. Sarah.

    Hatchling weight gain

Has anyone kept weight data -- hatchling to jv.? Mine has increased 0.2g since hatching, Dec. 1, and this gain was within the first 2 weeks. It has since remained steady at 1.9g. I'm thinking about increasing the amount fed from 3 to 4 - 1/2" crickets EOD. Thanks, Sarah.

OMG...... I just found a hatchling laying on a leaf in one of my female felinus cages!!!!!!! I knew she was gravid when I got her at the end of June and waited. For the first month she pooped out a ton of extremely large calcium clumps and so I just assumed that this was what I had...

    Female on the hunt

This is the smaller of my two females and she has an ENORMOUS appetite. Comes out every night (like clockwork) for her 'nightly misting session' and seems to just love it..... after about 20 minutes of just staring at and then moving in on this cricket, she finally nabbed it (yes, I sat...
