A "friend" of mine moved and could no longer care for his leopard gecko. Before receiving this gecko i was unsure what condition he would be in.
This poor baby was severely neglected, he was not given water, was on the wrong substrate and who knows when he ate last. He has a very sweet and calm...
I buy my crested gecko diet from a local reptile shop. It is all natural and made in shop. It is a fortified CGD and also includes insect powder. My question is, is the insect powder the same as feeding my CG live crickets? Ever since I put her on this specific diet she will not take crickets...
I've had Gus for close to a year now. I thought he was a boy the whole time and now I'm not so sure anymore. I feel like i can see the pores but don't see bulges. If he turns out to be a girl, I'll have to rename him so I'd like to find out ASAP. Please and thank you in advance.
I just put sand underneath the tile in my tank to help distribute heat better. The temp on the hot side is currently sitting at 90.4F but it continues fluctuating up and down. It goes from 90.0F up to 92.5F. should it be fluctuating so much? it literally just continues to go up and down without...
What age is a gecko considered an adult? I've had Gus for about 6 months and he was about a month or 2 when i got him, that makes him between 7-8 months. Do i keep feeding him everyday or drop down to 3-4 days?
Also, does he look healthy? is his tail fat enough in comparison to his body?
Here is Gus' home. I'm working on adding more coverage like plants and things. I have also just turned out the light, I've been trying to get the temps under control and where they need to be. Also just added the second story. not sure if I'll keep it but we'll see if he likes it.
I do have a heat mat, 2 actually(mini and medium sized) but even with those his tank doesn't get warm enough. I only have the light on during the day. Also, I was always told to use reptile carpet by other gecko owners and also by the research I've done on my own.
This is the update on the...
I am thinking about adding a second story to Gus' home. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or examples that may help me in the process. He doesn't seem to move around too much and i just feel like it could be better if he had things to climb on and stuff.
This is what his home looks like...
So, I'm not on here very often anymore and decided to give an update. My gecko's name has changed a few times. It went from Luna to Clyde and now is officially Gus. I have upgraded from a 10 gallon tank o a 25 gallon, now he has more than enough room to roam round and chase his prey. He seems...
My leopard gecko is about 4 months old and i have him in a 10 gal tank. I read that you can house a full grown gecko in a 10 gal and them be comfortable in it but he is out growing both his hides so i'll have to get bigger hides. But if i get bigger hides he will have almost no room for walking...
Update
I haven't posted in a few weeks, just wanted to give a quick update.
I recently discovered Luna is actually male so i renamed him, he is now Clyde. He is getting bigger everyday and is starting to become super friendly. He eats all the time and sure loves his crickets. I added pictures...
Luna shed for the first time since i've had him last week. To my surprise this morning when i went to check on him he was in the middle of shedding again. Is there a pattern to them shedding or is it random. I want to make sure that his moist hide is nice and moist when he is ready to shed. Last...
I just want to make sure my baby is good and healthy.
He's about 5 1/2 inches long and is eating all the time. I know his tail is supposed to be nice and fat and i just want to make sure his tail is fat enough for his size. I've had him for about a month and he seems to get bigger and fatter...
Will a gecko over eat if you continue giving food?
Luna is about 4 months, right now eating about 6-8 crickets and up to 4 mealworms daily. Is this a healthy amount for such a little gecko or am i over feeding? i don't want to harm my baby with food.
