She's kind of a rescue when my cat (the same one who has attacked Leos in the past) and brought her home.
Thought she was dead, but she turned out very much alive. I've patched her up and she's stuck around and is a bit of a learning curve with being my first snake since I've only had Leos in...
Yeah, its been a while since I've posted last and sadly dear old Commanda, the eldery Leo who developed severe health problems in the end passed during the summer leaving Fry all alone in massive tank
He's been fine and been relocated to smaller tank until I find another Leo.
But look at him...
With just Fry now (lost my elderly Commanda in June after going off her food again and refused to eat even when seperated into a nice quiet room. So Fry got moved back into the 30 gallon with a new and improved plan using tunnels and hides.
I know OMG theres SAND!!!
There is sand but not...
Well Small Fry isn't so small any is officially one year and weighs 72 grams and with his regrown tail is 7 inches long and mealies and crickets aren't cutting it with him anymore.
While my oldie Commanda does her normal amount every other day; Fry eats twice that and I'm going through...
So I'm trying an experiment.
A friend just visited a lady who is a reptile breeder and owns a small store to pick up some fruit flies since my regular shop doesn't deal in those and told me that the lady actually has Pineapple tops in short bowls in the Leo tanks and that they love climbing on...
Alright my oldie Commanda has been doing this a lot lately the past two months. She'll eat about 10-15 mealworms then refuse absolutely everything for a whole entire week and a half then decide that she wants to eat again.
She's not loosing weight, she's at about 50-55 grams so she's not fat...
I noticed these little beetle fly things the day after last when I was checking on my small horde of crickets.
I chased the things out, cleaned the container and put the crickets back in, and went to pull some out and found half of them dead, some half alive covered in little maggots that look...
So I found an add for a 40 gallon breeder that Im dying to snatch up. But the problem is that my current tv stand that holds my viv is too small. Has anyone found anything that works well as a stand with shelves and thats not to expensive, or would it be easier to build my own stand.
So I was showing Fry to a friend of mine who use to breed geckos a few years ago the other day.
He commented on him saying that I had myself a Mack Stripe, not the Mack Aberrant the breeder told my sister (and what from I been learning about markings).
So now I'm royally confused since Fry is...
I stumbled upon these guys from one of the banners on the sight and was wondering if anyone has these. They're these little hides and ledges that use magnets that stick on the outside of the tank and allows you to see the critter inside.
They actually seem really cool.
With Commanda still not really recovering, I'm worrying that I might loose her, but I can't help but worrying about Small Fry.
Besides the quarientee time, Fry's been housed with geckos most of his short life (he's not going to be a year until this fall some time), and that he might not take...
I'm curious as to what tiles people use in their vivariums. Mine have been on sand, reptile carpet, and paper towels and I've heard mention of tiles.
Are they like the ones for flooring, walls, show pictures even, I'm very curious.
So I figured it was time to do this...
I live in Kansas, not to far from the speedway and had recently gotten into Leos 2 years ago when my mother told me someone she worked with was giving one away and told me about it so I couldn't pass it up.
I actually had lizards when I was a kid, I...
So we had one last tank breach Friday that caused both my leos, Small Fry and Commanda to drop their tails and completely stressed out and not interested in food.
So I waited a couple of days with their tank covered to allow them to de-stress for a couple of days.
I dropped in some fresh...
Back in May we welcomed as little black kitty into my household. My late cat and my tom had always lived in harmony with my two Leos Small Fry and Commada (a juvenile male and a old as dirt ex classroom pet female). The kitten had pretty much ignored my Leos for the longest time.
Then...
