Caught my grandis in the act this morning. I figured they would at least have the decency to go in the bamboo out of the sight of the kids. Oh well.
Hey! Not infront of the kids! by KevinJMcRae, on Flickr
Hi,
My pair of grandis started laying eggs last December. They laid eight eggs and all eight hatched successfully. In late April I was preparing to go to New Brunswick for the summer so I brought my geckos to my parents house for the summer. I thought they were done laying for the season but I...
Hi,
I've been having a fruit fly issue for a few months now. They are becoming quite a problem and I can't seem to get them to die off. I spot clean weekly and have let the enclosure dry out for a week and they just keep coming back. I removed all of the sphagnum moss as well. I'd rather not...
Hi,
I've hatched several species of geckos before but I've always been home within a day of when they hatched. I'm going to be away from my home for 4 days when a clutch of eggs is due to hatch. Do you think the geckos will be alright in the incubator for that long of a period?
Hi, how do you guys get grandis eggs out of hollow bamboo? I've currently got a set of eggs about 5-6" down a hollow piece of bamboo. The diameter of the bamboo is about 1.5-2". I was thinking about using a large spoon. Any advice?
Has anyone heard any vocalization from their Phelsuma?
I've got a proven pair of P. m grandis and I've heard some noise coming from my gecko cages who I could not pin point. I added a large horizontal piece of bamboo to their enclosure tonight and the male started to make his "turkey call" at...
Hey guys,
Two weeks ago I borrowed a friends male AFT to go with my two amel girls. One female definitely is gravid and it looks like the other one is as well. Their appetites have greatly increased (I'll probably pick up some pinkies tonight). They've both been hanging out in the humid...
Hey guys, it's been over a year since I've been on the forum. I used to have over sixty geckos but over the past couple years I've been reduced to three! It's sad not to have all of the wonderful gecko species I once had but at the same time it's less stressful and much more enjoyable. Anyways...
Hi guys, this little fellow came from Paul McCleary the other day for me, just thought I would share some photos.
Very smart animal, watching him feed is amazing. I think I'm really going to enjoy ackies.
The photos came out clear but so far its impossible to have the colors show; he actually...
I will be getting some Nephrurus soon and was wondering if anyone has used silica sand with there geckos. I've heard some bad things about it, apparently its sharp. I use it with my fish and haven't had problems and found it to be quite smooth. I can get both coarse and fine silica sand. Off...
Made a new enclosure for my grandis awhile back. Moved her from a really big enclosure because it needs some work into this.
Glass has lots of marks on it, didn't clean it before the picture. Look like scratches but they aren't. ;)
:D
Anyone who keeps these geckos knows how hard it is to get photos of their ever changing colors. Wonderful geckos to keep.
Just recently moved them into a 18x18x24 exo terra enclosure. They seem to use the extra space very well. They are growing very quickly. Around 5" in March and now around...
