Hi everyone! I recently changed my substrate for my crestie from paper towel to eco earth to help with humidity (and it also looks a lot nicer!). I am kind of concerned giving him bugs though. If he hunts them on the eco earth, will he ingest the substrate and get impaction? Has anyone had any...
So I am in a very sticky situation. I have recently rescued a juvenile leopard gecko with a regenerating tail. I only got him about a week ago, and I can tell he is not very healthy, as he had a really bad shed, coming off in pieces and ripping easily. He got quite a bit stuck on his...
Hi everyone,
I recently rescued a juvenile leopard gecko with a dropped tail. I was just wondering what I should do to help it grow back, since he is a baby and is already required extra food and nutrients. Can anyone recommend a good food and vitamin schedule? Thanks!
Unfortunately, I do not have a pic, BUT
There is this juvenile leopard gecko at petsmart. He dropped his tail at the base, and when he moves he seems to be a bit shakey. Like when he moves his head, it shakes a bit like and old man shakes. I am afraid that with him growing, and regenerating his...

For about a week I have occasionally heard my leopard gecko scream (not in a horrible way, just lightly), and then try to bite his bulge area. Do they do this when they are about to poop? I have noticed his bulge is a little bit bigger I suppose, but he seems to be pooping okay. Any ideas?
My male is 8 inches and 81 grams. He is not terribly overweight, but I worry because he has those bubbles on his armpits. I have taken away calcium for probably a month now and they are smaller, but still there. Should he loose a little weight? And how would I help him do that? Thanks!!!
I recently rescued this guy from craigslist, and he is in pretty bad shape. I just noticed that the end of his tail is very rough and has a little red nub on the tip. I really want to help him get the skin off, but I have never had to take retained skin off the tail before, and he is already...
I have rescued this leo today, and he is very thin! He is about 8 inches and only weighs 38 oz! And that is right after eating 6 meal worms! The previous owner told me that last time he fed him was 2 weeks ago! Does anyone have any tips on healthy weight gain? I gave him 6 mealworms tonight...
I am rescuing this gecko, the guy claims to have gotten him two years ago at an expo, and Im not sure if he is really thin, or a juvenile? He looks like a juvenile to me, not a complete baby, but very young, what do you think? I want to know so I can figure out how to manage his weight if he is...
Sticky just shed, but he has some skin left by the base of his tail around his privates. Should I help him take it off? I don't want to hurt his...area.
I currently have a male in a 20 gallon tank, and I was looking into maybe getting a female because I know males can't live together, however, I know there is a high chance of them breeding. I'm not sure how I feel about this, is it unfair to the female? I don't want to put unnecessary stress on...
Okay so I am very confused...
I now have calcium powder with D3, calcium powder without D3, and Herptivite multivitamin,
I dust with the non-D3 calcium every feeding, and the Herptivite every 4-5th feeding, so... where do they get the vitamin D3? Do I need to use the D3 calcium? Thanks!
My Leo has had these bubbles under his arms that have not ton away in a few weeks. I have lessened his food and calcium, but they are still there. Does he look overweight to anyone? He certainly is no too thin, but I am worried about the bubbles. Any suggestions? He currently eats about 3 or 4...
My adult male Leo eats about either 5-8 giant mealworms, or 5-6 large crickets each day! Is this too much? I am a little concerned because he has developed a bubble under each armpit, and I don't want him to be overweight! He eats all of the mealworms I hive him and a majority of the crickets...
I recently "adopted" a leo from craigslist, and he came with a 10 gallon set up. Is this big enough? He is an adult male, and has a log hide and a rock hide, and repti carpet, along with like the heater and stuff. Some people say 10, others say 20.... Thanks!
