General Agamura persica (Duméril 1856), called Persian or blunt-tailed spider geckos, inhabits rocky and stony terrain close to sandy semi-desert, on hill slopes, and barren plains in regions of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. They are primarily nocturnal but can be found during the day basking...

All wound up tight in an egg

I peeled away the egg shell from this guy. Pretty cool stuff. Can you figure out all the parts? PS: It's dead. Front: Back:

    Cyrtopodion spinicaudus

I was just wondering if anyone has worked with this species or if it has ever or even could ever appear in captive collections. I looks like it lives in a range where exportation is legal but that is all based on my readings rather than actual communication.. Here is a pic by Omid Mozaffari...

    New gecko: what is it?

I picked this guy up but I don't know what it is. It was sold as a velvet gecko but it doesn't look like any of the pics I see online.

    Removing mites from feet

I have a couple U. pietschmanni and they have those little red mites; not many, but some. I can easily remove them from their bodies with the standard dish soap and Q-tip method but I can't get them off of their toes. That little hook on each toe grabs the Q-tip. Anyone have suggestions?

    New additions: U. pietschmanni

I haven't purchased any new Uroplatus for a while, but a few U. pietschmanni became available so I picked up a pair. Here they are: Female Male Right now they are in quarantine so I can monitor them; maybe until May. They have a few red mites so I've been manually removing these. I also...

    Agamura hatching

I found this girl hatching this evening and I thought it would be cool to snap pics at 10 minute intervals to watch the whole procession (minus the initial pipping which I missed). Here is time zero: Unfortunately, 10 minutes later I found this: Oh well, maybe next time. I would love to be...

    spider gecko deformity

Yesterday I had a very late hatchling finally emerge (about 2 weeks overdue) and here he is: Notice the problem? That's a twisted up, stubby tail. The left over umbilical chord isn't a problem but I've never seen a twisted up tail like that. I won't cull this guy but I predict he probably...

    broken egg. advice?

The story: I have an Agamura egg that is about 5-10 days "overdue". I was examining it today and it broke. The gecko is alive and wiggles. The membrane around the gecko is intact except on the bottom where the yolk sac remains. The yolk was slightly leaking, there was a little blood where some...

My Uroplatus turns up in cricket bin

A weird thing happened. I was getting ready to feed the geckos so I opened up the cricket bin and started knocking a few crickets into a deli cup. I moved one of the eggcrates and there was my female Uroplatus ebenaui. I didn't even know she was missing. The bin is in a different room about 20...

    Some of my geckos

I've been absent for a while. (Nathan decided to lock me out of the board for a while because he's mean ;) ). I picked up a few new geckos since then and I just thought I'd post some pics. None of them are actually rare and many are not even uncommon but they are nice species :D Here they are...

    Pachydactylus turneri mating video

I posted this on Geckoworld but I thought I would share it with you guys, too. This is a video I took last year of my Turner's geckos copulating. It consists of four 20 second clips and one 4 second clip (my camera can only take 20 second clips). This video won't stay on for long because it...

    Spider gecko grown up

This is a pic of a hatchling gecko (1-3 days old) ) I took in '03. He's an F1 I think: This is the same gecko late last year (I just sprayed him): You can see the same pattern on the back. Coincidently he is the father of the hatchling in this thread...

    Pachydactylus turneri guarding her eggs

This is a female Turner's gecko who has just laid an egg. I was impatient about moving her eggs out of the enclosure so as soon as she laid one I put my hand in to take it out. She didn't like that and arched her back then hissed at me. It was very cool so I took a pic. Thanks for looking.

    Spider gecko trio

This is a group of very young spider geckos (Agamura persica) that I like: If I remember correctly, the top left gecko is the mother from this ovulation: http://geckosunlimited.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=346 Thanks for looking.

    Uroplatus ebenaui mating

I caught a pair of my U. ebenaui mating once and decided to get a pic. She ended up laying a couple of infertile eggs and has done so ever since (I even got one today). I'm not interested in breeding this species but it's interesting to watch them. Thanks for looking.
