I had a baby crestie hatch yesterday which has an extra pad and nail on the last digit of each back foot, like an extra toe. I've looked into this and it seems to be getting fairly common in cresties - in fact it's identical to the extra toes in this post...
I moved my 3 week old S. sthenos into a slightly larger tub tonight and noticed some odd tail wagging behaviour. I'm aware of, and have witnessed, the parents and these hatchlings do the typical feeding wag before lunging for prey, but in the feeding reponse it's only the tail tip that moves...
