I am purchasing a U. Fimbriatus, and would rather get imput on housing and maintenace. versus depending on the care sheets. Recc tanks, tricks to humidity, and the overall personality of these unique lizards. Are they docile. Please help with any ideas

Thanks

This species requires large tanks. I really like hex. tanks for Uroplatus. The substrate can be peat moss, coconut fiber, or any soil base that retains moisture. There should be plenty of pieces of vertically-situated cork bark slabs/tubes and branches in the set-up. A large, hardy plant can be added for additional shelter/security. The tank should be misted on a daily basis. Make sure that a portion of the top is covered. You can mount a small muffin fan in the hood to circulate the humid air in the enclosure.

I just got a pair of huge fimbriatus. I'm housing them in a 75gallon with live plants and a solid cork bark back. Here is a pic. Should look really good when all the plants grow in. I also have a smaller henkels in the tank.

Thanks. I originally set this tank up to house something else but when i saw the fimbriatus I thought they would work well in the tank.... Now i'm wondering if I should flip it up long ways for them instead. I'm getting another female tomorrow and thought they may do better with a taller setup. Anyone's input would be great..
