there is a slight bit of curling on the female's tail so i've been trying to make sure she is well hydrated.. sprayed them once when i got home @ 4PM yesterday, again when i went to bed 'round 11PM and again this AM 'round 6:30. that ok? should i try anything else? any advise would be well appreciated.

they look great oscar! Glad you found something you liked! regarding the female's tail, other uroplatus keepers will be able to help you out a bit more, but you could also try to see if she'll lap up pedialyte from a feeding syringe.

dude...some people that are new to uroplatus dont realize that curling of the tail differs from folding. folding and crumpling of the fleshy sides of the tail indicate dehydration, while curling the tail is something completely normal that the geckos do themselves. folding is best described then the sides kinda get flimsy and fold inward towards the midline of the tail. curling is when the tip of the tail starts to curl backwards toward the base of the tail, but the tail essentially remains flat. kinda hard to tell from the pics, but good luck, and nobody ever hurt their gecko by giving it something to drink (no beer though, heh).

ahhh.. thank you Miguel. i think i understand the difference and i'll check it out more, but it kinda does sound like its 'folding' and not curling. its not curling overall, but the edges are curling inward towards the center of the tail.. thats how i understood it to be an indicator of dehydration.
i would never feed a leaftail beer.. after all.. i dont know if beer is native to Madagascar!
