In all curiousness, what should minimum housing probably be for the fimbriatus. We have been discussing it in my University's biology dept. We are keeping ours in a 30 tall 24x24x12.5 (HxWxDeep). Do you think that is sufficient. What do you know people to keep them in. We thought about putting it in a 40 tall which is another 6 inches taller. Please help

Hi,
I would say a good size for a fimbriatus tanks is about 4ft tall and 3ft wide and deep, they are a lahge species and although inactive during the day, they really do come alive at night and utilize the space.

In my previous post regarding plants there is a website I mentioned which willl give you some good ideas for setups. Needs to be well planted, and lots of branches. If you have the money I would seriously consider investing in a misting system as well.
