I need sereious help with a savana monitor!!!!!

It is a weird story so if your confused I understand
My aunts friends sister said she saw a giant lizard in the yard :shock: her husband thought she was crazy but when he came home on Monday he opened the garage out ran a savana monitor! It went around the garage and disapeared then when it rained it came out and ran for the grill. It hid and they have not seen it sense.
how do i catch it they fear for there cats lives it is 2ft long and has killed and eaten a half a squirrle and half a black bird as well as the cats food.

I would be more concerned that the cats would hurt it, however, I'd still attempt to rescue it, as it won't survive over winter. If you can trap it somewhere or see it hiding, you should be able to grab it out w/ leather gloves-welding gloves work very well. Be careful of the claws as well as the jaws, as they can be very sharp.

I might use your idea if i see him again. Though it might a little safer to get a humain trap with chicken and set it out and let him come to me.
