i recently acquired a 20 gallon tank that is pretty high and wide. im wanting to place a 1.2 (1 male, 2 females) group in there. ive read up on a lot about them and since i live in arizona i doubt ill need a heat lamp. and some sites say there should be water dishes and others say you don't need them theyll just like it off the sides. is there anymore specifics i should know about them from owners with past experience?

I provide my crestie with a water bowl so he has water whenever he needs it. Also I think the max number of geckos for a 20 gallon is 2, because over crowding can cause alot of stress problems. Also babies and juviniles should be kept in 10 gallon or smaller for babies.

Lots and lots of foilage, i find that those exo-terra bendable vines are really nice as well. Also the books The Crested Gecko in Captivity and Rhacodactylus will help with almost any question you have, they are extremely informative. It is also best to just leave your crestie alone the first couple nights so he gets used to his new enclosure.

Here is a pic of my enclosure, it is a ten gallon cause my gecko is still young. Also the post that says "would like to see crested setups....." has alot of good photos.

You could probaly get away with 1.1 in a 20H, minimum recommendations ive read have been 10 gal per animal(adults). I would recommend against more than 2 in the set up your describing. As far as temps go.... im not sure whats normal in Arizona, but cresteds do best at around 70-80.

i usually keep it at 78-80 in my house. i know it sounds hot but its actually cool here compared to outside and the tile flooring also gives off some cooling.

so 1.1 would be good. would it be okay to place a separater in the container so that the creties get half a gallon while theyre still small?

Well depending on how large they are they should have an eclosure around 6-10 gallons. I think you can house two small geckos(baby-juvie) in a 10 gallon.
