tiles are what i use as a substraight, the 6x6 ceramic or slate tiles work great, u can even use the 1ft by 1ft tiles (not sure if those fit in 10 and 20 longs), u can fill in the cracks with a little bit of sand if u like. Ill tell you how everything about my geckos tank, its a 20gal long, it has 10 6x6 tiles which are a whitish and stone color with some textures on, the cracks are filled in with a some black sand, she has a water tower dish, a cave, a small ceramic dish with clacium powder in, a gecko hamock (those green net things you can put in the corner) and a basking platform (saves some room in tank). Watever you do, dont use walnut shells or clacium carbonate sand (even though wat they say about it being ok), for filling in the cracks between tiles i recomend repti sand or play sand ( its natural and doesnt have junk added 2 it). also, get a thermonater, make sure the temps stay about 75- 95 degrees, i use a UTH (Under tank heater), which you should put in the oppoisite corner of the cave and waterdish. Good luck with the leapard gecko.
