yes, animal prices always drop as they become more common. you just have to set your prioritys straight. which is more important, a leachie or a home theater system. i have 3 and i dont watch tv, and my computer is older then dirt.
currently alot of people are breeding "mutt" leachies that you can find on kingsnake, hatchlings for usually about 450, which i belive is the cheapest you can get. i dont really support "mutt" breeding [mixing locals, or whatever leachies you can get your hands on rather then keeping them pure] but people do it, which is why the babies are cheap. pure bred animals from respectable dealers are going to be alot more.
saras have recently come down in price, and you can now find them for less then 200$ each, which is what you would pay for an attractive gargoyle. chahouas are still quite a bit [slightly less then leachies], and the rough snouted geckos are still totally out of anyones price range.
currently, cresteds are rising in the pet trade [leopard geckos and ball pythons being the bread and butter] and ususally peoples next step is gargoyles after they get their first 5 cresteds or so. then for more serious rhac enthusiasts are the leachies, cute and fun like big puppy dogs. then come saras and chahouas, in popularity. and no one even dreams of actually getting the rough snouted geckos.
wait a few years. itll come down, then again so will the value of the dollar, so that isnt saying a whole lot. good luck.
