HR-

How do you like the automatic mister for your Cresteds? What kind of flooring are you using so that it doesnt get muddy or saturated?

Thanks,

Genevieve

genevieve if I was to do it all over agin I would not go with the misting system. The major problem I had was that the nozzles would not flow correctly and most of the time they would just drip until you either shake them or tap them on the top. Also once everything is hooked up the cage cannot be moved for cleaning or any other purpose and the pump is insanely loud. I have since switched to a RL flowmaster it last me just about a solid week between filling and makes watering super easy.

The mist from the misting system was so fine that I never really flooded the cage, so using peatmoss worked perfect for bedding.

And JB I have been really thinking about letting alot of my cresteds go since the market is flooded with them but I have since changed my mind and am planning on keeping 3 or 4 breeding groups most likely I will have a break down of 1.3 yellows 1.2 harlequins 1.2 reds and maybe 1.2 oranges. The female pictured above will be in the orange group I still need to find a male and another female to match her size at 45 grams should be fun.

the foggers only purpose would to really just raise humidity. To supply drinking water I think misting would be the best idea and it works really well and is really easy with the flowmaster.
