Putting leachies together.

Ijust tried putting my male and female together for the first time. It was very interesting to see the reaction of the male. He was very alert with alot of tongue flicking. When they finally came face to face he began this loud clucking sound and flinching his body. She began wiggling her tail very quickly and the chase was on. I never saw him actually bite her but he would jump at her and let out a hiss. After about an hour I seperated them. I will put them back together when i can watch longer. I would hate to leave them overnight unsupervised and wake up to a dead female.

I would like to hear about some of your experiences with putting leachies together to get an idea of how they should react if they like each other

interesting. If the male is a mainland i could understand the aggressive courtship. Island forms are almost always 'nicer' when it comes to this. i'd say you're doing the right thing, just be sure you can keep a close eye on them for the first couple hours to make sure they settle in well together.
