bad sense of smell?????????????

my p standingi who has not been eating, started licking food off of my finger. See i decided i would see if i could tempt him down and i had baby food on my finger. I touched the side of his mouth and he started liking the food off of my finger. When there was no more food on my finger (there was little to begin wiht) I figured he would go down and eat. well i checked in on him about 2 hours later and he hadn't eat but he once again ate off my finger. The first time he was on the glass side and the second time he was on his basking platform. is it possible he can't smell the food?

Sometimes they get use to the food being in a certain place. Try to find a way to prop the food fairly close to his favorite spots. If he's new it might take a while for him to realize that's the chow area. Make sure you're offerring plenty of live food.
