I just got my first pair of eggs from my group of large phantasticus tonight. They both look fertile. Hope time turns them out right.

I have heard several people talk about these "Giant" phantasticus. Can you possibly take a picture of one next to a ruler so we can get an idea of the size.

Yes I have heard of "giants" from a seller in California about two-three years back. They where selling at a high price for all Uroplatus so I didnt get any...what is the actual size difference, do you have any pictures with a regular sized one? Is the head large like the spearpoints? Good to know a breeder got ahold of those guys n good luck with the eggs!

I would dig around, usually around the base of a plant or under something and they will go deep sometimes. I used to find eggs when moving plants around or changing soil even after doing regular sifting. When I sold all my fantasticus and decided to clean cages and dump plants out before moving I found 8 more eggs. All hatched out!
Also the soil sometimes sticks to the eggs so they can be hard to notice.

the two females I speak of are 5.5 inches and 5.25 inches. The longer weighs 14.5 grams while the other weighs 11.5 grams.

There are other people who have them but none are confirmed otherwise. at least no one shares their info with me. they gave me 5 hatchlings last year without having been with a male while with me. 3 survived so I'll see what that gives. Also,

there are so many locales though that may have different size measurements. To be honest I do not think mine are anything special other than a different locale. They haven't produced with any of the males I've housed them with though so... maybe they are a subspecies.

U.phantasticus and U.ebanaui can be found all over the island so its not like there isn't a possibility of their being a locale that is fairly large in comparison to what is commonly imported.
